Today I took the girls to work with me because Josh had an interview. Lillian knows that there are snacks for sale at the shop, so I told her that if she brought HER money, that she could buy one. So we got into her piggy bank and I told her that she needed four quarters to buy a snack.
So we counted them out. I said, "The snack costs one dollar, four quarters (the big ones) equal one dollar"
She kept the four quarters in her pocket all day. Then about an hour before we left I took her to buy her snack. I asked her, "How many quarters make a dollar?"
"FOUR!"
I like when she actually listens to what I'm saying and REMEMBERS it!

The Lion
Today during the Watchtower study Lillian was paying attention because she made up her own comment (she didn't give it though, she got to say something else in the microphone). She heard them talking about Satan is roving about like a roaring lion and she said, "I want to answer, 'The lion!'"
Today I swore that Emma tried to say, "Thank you" when I handed her a teddy bear
The other night she was cracking me up because I had Emma just in a diaper because of how hot it was. And she would sit there and grab her big belly and look down at it. It cracked me up, but I didn't get any photos.
Josh has been a stay at home daddy all week and has been doing great getting Lillian to use the potty. He was even brave enough to take her to the pediatrician in underwear. Not a diaper, not a pull up, real big girl underwear! She's even taking long naps without accidents and even the whole night sometimes! She will wake up in the morning and go straight to the potty.
Lillian is now 37 inches and 32 pounds and Emma is 29 inches and 21 pounds!
Lil is obsessed with the "Rainbow Connection" song and Annie's "The Sun Will Come Up Tomorrow". But she doesn't know the original versions, she listens to the punk version by "Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies"
Tonight I opened the pantry and asked Lillian what she wanted to eat for dinner and she said, "Brownies!"

Nothing Gets By Her
Today while flipping through channels on the DVR menu it landed on the Noggin channel, now realize the Noggin channel did not turn on, it was just the menu screen showing you what was on that channel. She saw the teeny tiny icon at the top right of the menu that said "Noggin" and she started getting excited and screamed, "MY SHOWS!" and then when we passed by she said, "awwwww :("

New Words & Other Random Updates
Emma has added "Uh Oh" to the list of words that she says. She also understands and responds to "Share" and "High Five" as well as "Pati-cake" and "Clap." She will also head bang you if you ask for kisses. She has four teeth coming in the top, the two on the left are coming in faster than the two on the right, so she's looking a little lop sided.
Lillian is working on her Spanish. She knows Verde, Azule, and Roho (Green, Blue, Red). Although sometimes you have to remind her. I'm also trying to teach her "Ti Amo" which I think is a form of "I love you" At least on Dora "Ti Amo Papi" Is translated "I love you daddy"
Today she saw a humming bird on TV and thought it was a dragon fly. When Josh told her that it was a humming bird she asked, "A hunny bird?"
The other day when we were on our way home from the water park she told Daddy, "Put your shirt on!" Josh said, "Is it gross to see me without a shirt?" and she said, "YES!"
We've successfully had almost a week of Lillian wearing underwear around the house. Mostly out of necessity because we ran low on diapers. But she only had two accidents and even made it through a nap with underwear on. So I've been proud of her. She still wears diapers when we go out because she just doesn't think about the bathroom with all the external stimuli. We'll cross that bridge once we've mastered it at home. I'm just proud that we've gotten this far. I was beginning to worry that she'd never understand.
Lillian is also getting really into dancing. She actually moves to the beat of the music and you can tell that she flows with the tempo and mood. I want to get her enrolled in dance classes as soon as I can. I will just have to start looking at prices.

Surprise!
Lillian is playing in this huge box that her kitchen came in. She put herself into the box and then told me to open it and said, "Surprise Mommy!" I told her, "Lillian, you're the best surprise ever!"
Then she said, "And hamburgers!"
Then she said, "And hamburgers!"

The First Spiteful Jealousy
So today I moved out Emma's clothes that don't fit her (I need to figure out a way to get rid of the majority. Yard sale anyone?)
Then I unpacked to large boxes of Lillian's old 12 month clothes and filled Emma's drawers back up. Then I finished moving my dresses from the closet to my new closet. After that I took down all the dresses that didn't fit Emma and moved some of Lillian's old dresses from her closet into Emma's closet.
When I was telling all this to Josh on the phone Lillian overheard me and said, "I don't want to share with Emma!" I said, "What? Would you rather me throw your old dresses away?" She shook her head yes and re-emphasized, "I don't want to share my dresses with Emma!!!"
